Enjoy a sunset cruise aboard a traditional Arabian trading vessel called a ‘dhow.’ Enjoy sea breezes while you sail past Oman’s rugged coastline sprinkled with medieval forts and fishing villages. Marvel at postcard-worthy sights you pass including Al Bustan Palace, Muttrah’s Corniche and Al Alam Palace — the Sultan of Oman’s residence nestled in the Muscat harbor. Overnight in Muscat.
After breakfast, start Muscat City Tour which will cover the most famous tourist attractions : Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque ( 8 am to 11 am ), the 5th biggest Mosque in the world (please consider the dress code). Men and women must dress conservatively in long trousers and covered shoulders. Women must also cover their hair.
The Mosque is embellished in beautiful, colorful mosaic patterns. Do not be surprised if you are approached by Omani women offering you dates and coffee. Take this opportunity to ask them about life and the culture. They will be more than happy to share their stories and insight.
Opera House (If there is no rehearsal on stage)
The Royal Opera House Muscat is Oman’s premier venue for musical arts and culture. The opera house is located in Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat on Sultan Qaboos Street.
Visit the Corniche & Muttrah Souk
The Muttrah Souq one of the oldest marketplaces in Oman dates back to two hundred years. It is located adjacent to the harbor of Muscat and has seen immense trade in the age of sail, being strategically located on the way to India and China. It was named after darkness because of the crowded stalls and lanes where the sunrays do not infiltrate during the day and the shoppers need lamps to know their destinations.
The main thoroughfare of the souq carries mainly household goods, shoes and ready-made garments. Further inside, there are mixed smells of frankincense, perfume oils, fresh jasmine, and spices. There are also tiny shops (on the side streets and alleyways leading up to the souq) with Omani silver, stalls of white dishdashas and embroidered kumahs, brightly colored cloth, and multicolored head scarves. Shoppers can even obtain old Arabian muskets at these souqs.
Other items sold at the souq include Omani pots, paintings, hookah pipes, framed khanjars (daggers), leatherwork, and incense.
Continue to Al Alam Palace
The Al Alam Palace is a palace located in Old Muscat, Oman. It was used as a ceremonial palace by Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said.

Nizwa is an ancient city in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of northern Oman. It sits on a plain characterized by seasonal rivers and palm plantations. It is known for Nizwa Fort, a castle with a huge cylindrical tower built in the 17th century to defend the city’s position on a major trade route. The adjoining marketplace, Nizwa Souk, is lined with handicrafts stalls and silversmiths working in small shops.
Visit the Amouage Factory
On your way to Nizwa stop at the famous Amouage factory and discover the manufacture and the ingredients of their unique perfumes (closed on Friday and Saturday).
Walk around the Nizwa Souq
Nizwa Souq is made up of a main entryway (pictured below) and a series of separate buildings out the back that house a date market, a fresh produce market, and other stalls. Most of the market, however, is dedicated to pottery, antiques, textiles and other paraphernalia.
Stop at the UNESCO world heritage site Bahla Fort.
Bahla Fort is one of four historic fortresses situated at the foot of the Jebel Akhdar highlands in Oman and the country’s only UNESCO-listed fort added in 1987. The fort underwent massive restoration efforts and reopened in 2012.
Overnight at Nizwa
Drive up to around 2000 m above sea level to enjoy the beauty of Jebel Akhdar, which means green mountain.
The Jebel Akhdar or Al Jabal Al Akhdar, is part of Al Hajar Mountains range in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It rises to a height of 2,980 m and encompasses the Saiq Plateau at 2,000m above sea level.

Return to Muscat. Overnight .
After Breakfast, check out by 11 am. Onward to Sur , which in former times was one of the most important trading cities in the Arabian Sea. It is now a more silent but still beautiful city. You visit the Dhow Factory where traditional wooden ships are made and the open air Dhow museum.
Evening Free for shopping. Dinner and drop to the Airport by 11 pm, for flight at 2 am .
