Two recent passport-size photographs (3.5cm x 4.5cm) in colour with good resemblance, 60-80% face coverage. Photograph should not be more than 3 months old.
The passport must be valid for at least three months (any other type of travel document should be valid for at least six months), beyond the intended duration of stay in the Schengen territory and with at least two blank pages to affix the visa. Passports valid for more than 10 years will not be accepted as the main required travel document.

Incase of minors (< 18 years) traveling alone
- A letter of consent (affidavit) from both the parents with their signatures.
- A photocopy of both parents passports.
- A photocopy of Birth certificate
- In case of a minor traveling with one parent, all the above documents of the other parent are required.
Frequent travellers : ( In addition to the above documents) : Incase of visit being sponsored by a guarantor/reference in Denmark / Iceland, the guarantor/reference is required to furnish the following:
- A sponsorship letter (not older than 6 months) issued by the reference in Denmark.

A Proof of employment & leave letter sanctioned on companyÔÇÖs letter head. For student, leave letter / report card issued from School and ID is required.
Two Copies of first & last page of the passport to be submitted.
Applicant could be asked for additional documents or may be called for an Interview if desired by The Embassy of Denmark, New Delhi.
If using the services of a Travel Agent, a Letter addressed to the embassy authorizing the travel agent to submit and collect documents on his behalf, is required from the Applicant.

In case of non frequent travellers, the travel medical insurance and the air ticket is not required at the time of submission of the visa application as the application may have to be referred to the Danish Immigration Service, Copenhagen for consideration. However, it will have to be submitted after the approval is received from the Danish Immigration Service.

Note:

All Green Card applicants and their dependants are required to pay the following verification charges at the time of submitting their application:

Exemption of the visa fee for a child is only applicable for the Short Term category, and if the child’s age is less than 6 years at the time of submission.
Applicants applying at the Danish visa application centre shall be levied a service charge of Rs. 1569/- (Inclusive of Goods and Service Tax SGST @9% and CGST@9% & education cess) payable in cash.
There is an optional courier facility available at Rs. 300/- (Inclusive of Goods and Service Tax SGST @9% and CGST@9%) per application.

Note:

All applications that do not meet Embassy requirements are sent to the Danish Immigration Service for approval and can normally take 6 to 8 weeks. Even if all the requirements are met, the Embassy may, at its discretion, send the application to Denmark for approval.

- Bank statements * for last three months / Sponsor letter / Foreign exchange endorsed on the passport.
- In case the Applicant is the proprietor/ owner of the company, Company’s bank statement, proof of paid income tax, company memo, partnership deal, establishment license or proprietorship etc are required.
- In case the visit is being sponsored by the Company, sponsorship Letter with full details and original bank statement for last the 6 months with bank seal on it of the company are required.
- In case of first visit to Denmark, in addition to the business correspondence with the concerned Danish / Icelandic Company, a copy of relevant and latest educational certificate is also required as support document (only the highest degree).
In case of Frequent Travelers, a declaration form of Medical Travel Insurance is to be filled and signed by the traveler.
In case Applicant uses the services of a travel agent, a Letter addressed to the Embassy, authorizing the travel agent to submit and collect documents on his behalf is required.
Visa issued is valid for a maximum of 6 months and allows for a maximum stay of 90 days.
An Authorization Letter (addressed to VFS Application Centre) is required from the Applicant on the companies letterhead, authorizing the Agency and the name of the staff. He/she must carry a Photo-Identity proof to deposit and collect documents on the Applicant’s behalf.
Applicant could be asked for additional documents or may be called for an Interview if desired by The Royal Danish Embassy, New Delhi.

- Confirmed air ticket.
- Copy of the contract / appointment letter.
- Confirmation by letter / fax from port agent in Denmark.
- Photo copy of all the filled out pages of CDC.

Airport Transit Visa:

As a general rule Indian nationals must obtain a visa before traveling in transit through a Danish airport irrespective of a change of aircraft. An airport transit visa entitles the holder to enter the international transit area of the airport, but not the territory of Denmark. The passport must be endorsed with a valid visa or residence permit for the country of final destination.

However, Indian nationals holding a Residence Permit in an EU or an EEA country, USA or Canada are exempt from airport transit visas as long as they hold a re-entry permit to the country of residence. This permit should be valid for at least 3 months after expiry of the airport transit visa.

Furthermore, Indian nationals holding a valid visa to an EU or an EEA country, Switzerland, USA or Canada are also exempt from airport transit visas.

Work Permit

From 20th May, 2012: Danish Embassy will be introducing biometrics for all the long term applications. Biometrics must contain digital photos, fingerprints and signatures. When the applicant goes to the visa application centre to deliver a residence/ work permit application, he will need to have his/her biometric data recorded. Applicant should remove any henna on fingertips, or allow it to fade, as this may prevent from getting a clear scan.

Every applicant who is submitting a residence permit application must attend the visa application centre in person. Children of less than 6 years need to attend, but are not require to have fingerprints or signature recorded, only a photograph.

Currently VFS Denmark application center will record biometrics for all long term applications at Delhi, Mumbai & Chennai only. Currently the biometric will not be recorded at Kolkatta application center, so the applicants applying under long term category have to submit the application at one of the above mentioned location.

The applicant should attach the following documents:

Additional documents as the case may be (specified in the instructions given).
If the Applicant’s position in Denmark does not fall under the Positive List or the Pay Limit Scheme or is a trainee position the Employer must provide, a declaration including certification from the local employment office (job centre) that the Employer has sought to fill the position with someone from Denmark or the EU (appendix 2).
If the Applicant is going to work as a trainee, the Employer must provide a description of the Training Programmer.

A Covering letter from the Indian organization or company containing following details:
- Name and designation of the Applicant and of the Signatory (of managerial or executive level) with their signature.
- An outline of the Applicant’s itinerary, purpose of visit and names and addresses of the companies he/ she intends to visit.
A signed invitation letter from the Danish/ Icelandic company containing following detail:
- Name of the Applicant invited.
- Dates of the intended stay.
- Purpose of the visit.
- Nature of costs being covered (boarding & lodging).
Overseas Travel Medical Insurance valid across all Schengen countries .The insurance should cover the Applicant for all risks like accidents, illness, and medical-emergency evacuation for an amount of at least 30,000 Euros or equivalent. The policy should clearly specify the period of validity, covering the entire duration of the trip including the date of arrival and departure. - Bank statements * for last three months / Sponsor letter / Foreign exchange endorsed on the passport.
- In case the Applicant is the proprietor/ owner of the company, Company’s bank statement, proof of paid income tax, company memo, partnership deal, establishment license or proprietorship etc are required.
- In case the visit is being sponsored by the Company, sponsorship Letter with full details and original bank statement for last the 6 months with bank seal on it of the company are required.
- In case of first visit to Denmark, in addition to the business correspondence with the concerned Danish / Icelandic Company, a copy of relevant and latest educational certificate is also required as support document (only the highest degree).
In case of Frequent Travelers, a declaration form of Medical Travel Insurance is to be filled and signed by the traveler.
In case Applicant uses the services of a travel agent, a Letter addressed to the Embassy, authorizing the travel agent to submit and collect documents on his behalf is required.
Visa issued is valid for a maximum of 6 months and allows for a maximum stay of 90 days.
An Authorization Letter (addressed to VFS Application Centre) is required from the Applicant on the companies letterhead, authorizing the Agency and the name of the staff. He/she must carry a Photo-Identity proof to deposit and collect documents on the Applicant’s behalf.
Applicant could be asked for additional documents or may be called for an Interview if desired by The Royal Danish Embassy, New Delhi.

Currently the biometric will not be recorded at Kolkatta application center, so the applicants applying under long term category have to submit the application at one of the above mentioned location.

The applicant should attach the following documents:

If the Applicant’s position in Denmark does not fall under the Positive List or the Pay Limit Scheme or is a trainee position the Employer must provide, a declaration including certification from the local employment office (job centre) that the Employer has sought to fill the position with someone from Denmark or the EU (appendix 2).
If the Applicant is going to work as a trainee, the Employer must provide a description of the Training Programmer.
