Name: Ireland

Information regarding Irish Short Stay Visa Waiver Program. The government of Ireland has given a special facility to Indian Nationals who can travel to Ireland without a visa till October, 2016. The Applicants must have a short term UK entry visa. This is subject to their entry in UK first. They must have a UK entry stamp on their passports to travel to Ireland. They will be allowed into Ireland only once and must return to UK to come back to India. Read visa Waiver Program.

Indian visitors will be able to apply for their UK or Irish visit visas under the BRITISH IRISH VISA SCHEME. The scheme will allow Indian nationals to travel to the UK and Ireland on a single visit visa and will make it easier and more attractive for Indian travelers to visit both countries on the same trip. As part of the scheme Ireland will share the UK 12 visa application centres across India and all applicants wanting to apply for any Irish or UK visa will need to use the shared Visa Application Centres to submit their applications and give their biometrics. Those using the scheme will need to arrive and travel to the country which issued their visa first, before being able to travel onto the other country. However visitors transiting via the UK to Ireland will not need a separate transit vis british-Irish Visa Scheme.

Full details of the reason for visit- e.g. to visit family, friends, etc.
Confirmation of Hotel booking or letter from reference in Ireland undertaking to provide you with accommodation during your stay.
A detailed account as to how your reference in Ireland met you (where applicable) and your relationship to them and supporting evidence of this. If your reference is not an Irish/EEA citizen, evidence of their permission to remain in Ireland – a copy of their GNIB card and copy of their passport showing Immigration stamps.
If the Reference is not an Irish/EEA citizen, evidence of their permission to remain in Ireland; a copy of their GNIB card and copy of their passport showing Immigration Stamps.
Evidence that the Applicant has sufficient funds to maintain yourself during your stay (recent bank statement covering a three month period). If your reference in Ireland is supporting you, they must supply a detailed 6 month bank statement for the period immediately prior to your visa application showing sufficient funds to support you for the duration of your stay.
A written undertaking both from yourself and your reference that you will observe the conditions of your visa, that you will not become a burden on the Irish State and that you will leave the State on the expiration of your visa.
Evidence of obligations for the Applicant to return to the country of permanent residence following the visit is required. They can be like the following:
- If you are employed a letter from your employer stating how long you have been employed there. The dates you will be on annual leave from and the date you will be returning to work in that employment.
- If you are a student, a letter from your college outlining what course you are pursuing, how many years you have been a student there, how many years/terms you have left at that college and that you will be returning there following your visit to Ireland.
- If you are married or have children under 18, and your spouse or children are remaining at home, you should submit your marriage cert and birth cert. for the children.
- Details of family members residing in your country of permanent residence.
- Details of your accommodation in your country of permanent residence, e.g. Ownership details or rental agreement.
If visiting another EU member state prior to travelling to Ireland, the relevant Visa for that country should be obtained before a visa for Ireland can be issued.
If travelling to visit a non EU national resident in the state, details of non EU National’s permission to remain in this state should be submitted (e.g. Garda (Police) Registration Card)
Full details of Medical / Travel Insurance for the stay duration amounting to 30,000 Euros.
For Group Tours – Itinerary & Booking Receipt are also required.
All supporting documents must be original documents and in English, or accompanied by a notarised translation. Visa processing takes 5 to 10 working days.

A letter of invitation from the Irish company giving contact details, stating the reason for, duration of your proposed visit, showing responsibility for your accommodation and maintenance costs during your stay (if sponsored by the Irish company. (original & one photocopy)
A letter from your employer confirming you are undertaking this trip on the Company’s behalf, the purpose of the visit, dates, and outlining who will be responsible for the full costs of the trip – travel, accommodation, expenses etc. Your employer should also confirm that you will be returning to that employment following the visit.(original & one photocopy)
A Letter of Invitation from the Irish Company stating contact details, the reason for and duration of your proposed visit, outlining responsibility for accommodation and maintenance costs during the stay (if the visit is sponsored by the Irish company). (original & one photocopy)
Evidence of your obligations to return to your country of permanent residence e.g. letter from employer showing your current employment situation, the date you are expected to return to that employment/college/commitments & details giving as to who will fund the trip, boarding &lodging (If sponsored by employer).(original & one photocopy)
Evidence of previous contact/correspondence between the Companies if any. If contracts exist between both Companies, relevant details of such a contract. (original & one photocopy)
If your business trip exceeds two weeks please supply a detailed itinerary and reasons to justify this.
Full details of Medical / Travel Insurance for the stay duration amounting to 30,000 Euros.
Proof of sufficient funds of both the Individual and the Company. If the Applicant is responsible for the costs of the trip, evidence of your personal finances in the form of detailed bank statements of the last 6 months is required. An explanation for undertaking the trip on one’s own expense should also be submitted.(original & one photocopy)

Note: Applicant’s coming to Ireland for employment under the Work Permit Scheme cannot apply for family members to join before a minimum of one year and before the work permit has been extended for a further 12 months unless falling within the Skills Categories.

Only a spouse and children under the age of 18 years are eligible to apply for joining the Employee.

The Employee must be able to show earnings sufficient to maintain the family without recourse to public funds.

Letter from current Employer or Experience Certificate (where applicable). Only a letter from the Student’s current Employer should be submitted. Any other recommendation letters should not be included.
Affidavit of Support.
Financial Documents of Sponsor like:
- Bank statements of the last 6 months and Bank Certificate.
- Bank Loan Paper (if any).
- Statement of the Chartered Accountant.
- Evaluation Report.
- Income Tax Return Papers.
- Any other financial documents (please specify).
Documents pertaining to Property Deeds, NSC’s, KVP’s, Mutual Funds will not be accepted by the Embassy. A Chartered Accountant’s statement incorporating the value of the above property/ funds will suffice.

Original Marriage & Birth Certificate for each dependent minor with a notarized English translation where appropriate.
4 most recent payslips along with all P60s (Revenue Tax form) issued whilst a resident in Ireland.
Evidence that the spouse/parent has sufficient funds to support the Applicant and other family members (copies of recent bank statements or other financial documents).
In case the marriage was solemnised after one spouse went to work in Ireland, a detailed account of the relationship history (when /where the two met), and evidence of the spouse returning home during the relationship, and for the wedding is required (in the form of immigration stamps on passport, flight tickets etc).
Details of any other dependents/ family members living in Ireland.
In case of a child travelling alone /unaccompanied by either or both parents, a legal consent from the child’s other parent(s) in his/her country of residence is required.
An up to date, recently issued Police Clearance Certificate or Observation in your passport.

Evidence of your obligations to return to your country of permanent residence e.g. letter from employer showing your current employment situation, the date you are expected to return to that employment/college/commitments & details giving as to who will fund the trip, boarding &lodging (If sponsored by employer).(original & one photocopy)

Evidence of adequate level of English through the TOEFL (a minimum score of 5) , IELTS (a minimum score of 173) etc (when the Course being pursued is through English).
Letter from current Employer or Experience Certificate (where applicable). Only a letter from the Student’s current Employer should be submitted. Any other recommendation letters should not be included.
Affidavit of Support.
Financial Documents of Sponsor like:
- Bank statements of the last 6 months and Bank Certificate.
- Bank Loan Paper (if any).
- Statement of the Chartered Accountant.
- Evaluation Report.
- Income Tax Return Papers.
- Any other financial documents (please specify).
Documents pertaining to Property Deeds, NSC’s, KVP’s, Mutual Funds will not be accepted by the Embassy. A Chartered Accountant’s statement incorporating the value of the above property/ funds will suffice.

In case the marriage was solemnised after one spouse went to work in Ireland, a detailed account of the relationship history (when /where the two met), and evidence of the spouse returning home during the relationship, and for the wedding is required (in the form of immigration stamps on passport, flight tickets etc).
Details of any other dependents/ family members living in Ireland.
In case of a child travelling alone /unaccompanied by either or both parents, a legal consent from the child’s other parent(s) in his/her country of residence is required.
