Requisite Documents and Fees

Note: Myanmar Visa can also be obtained on arrival for Business, Entry (Meeting/ Workshops/ Events), Transit purposes at Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw International Airports. Following are the documents required:

  • Applicants must have a valid passport not expiring for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Myanmar.
  • Two recent (4 cm x 6 cm) color photographs.
  • Visa Application form.
  • Confirm return air tickets.
  • Must have the letter of invitation from the sponsoring company in the event of first trip of business study (Stay cannot be extended).
  • Be required to produce copies of company registration/ business license/ evidence of permission to do business issued by the ministries concerned together with the application if he is working in Myanmar.
  • Fully mention the name of the factory, location, the sponsor and the position he holds if he is doing business with business visa.
  • Apply for extension of visa with the recommendation of the ministries concerned as well as in accordance with the existing procedures if he is doing business with business visa.
  • To submit the letter of invitation by the ministries concerned when going to attend meetings, workshops, events and ceremonies.
  • Not be allowed to engage in any kind of work with free of charge or with charges apart from the professions mentioned in the visa application form.
  • To submit air ticket to the destination when applying for transit visa.
  • Stay at legal licenses holding hotels, motels and guest house and legally permitted factories, workshops and shelters and seed to declared details address.
  • Report to the office of the Township Immigration and National Registration Department concerned at which he stays within Myanmar mentioning the address of hotels, motels guest houses, factories and workshops legally permitted as well as human dwellings.
  • Have under seven year old children accompanying parents in the passport granted visa free of charge; be able to produce the evidence of parent-children relationship if the children are holding separate passports.
  • On arrival Visa fee is USD 50 (For Business Visa with stay upto 70 days), USD 40 (For Entry Visa with stay upto 28 days), USD 20 (For Transit Visa with stay upto 24 hours).

  • A Covering Letter from the Indian Company or firm indicating the designation of the Applicant within the Company, the purpose of visit and the duration of intended stay (original and copies to be enclosed).
  • A Letter of Invitation from the Business Associate/ s in Myanmar.
  • Bank statement for last three months.
  • Applicant needs confirmed return / onward air ticket.
  • Hotel confirmation.
  • Visa issued is valid for 90 days with a maximum stay 10 weeks.
  • Visa processing takes 3 working days.
  • Multiple entry visa is issued if the Applicant has travelled to Myanmar for at least one time earlier with a Business Single entry visa.

  • A covering letter from the Applicant.
  • A Sponsorship letter from friends or relatives in Myanmar should be enclosed as a support document.
  • Hotel confirmation.
  • A foreigner who married with Myanmar citizen must provide a copy of marriage certificate.
  • Visa is valid for 90 days with an initial stay 15 days which is extendable on arrival.
  • Visa processing takes 3 working days.

Seamen

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application for the visa. A photocopy of the passport must also be provided.
  • One visa application form duly signed by the traveler.
  • Two recent photographs (size 4 X 6 cm) with white colored background.
  • Applicant needs confirmed return / onward air ticket. Land entry into Myanmar is not allowed. One undertaking slip given by the Embassy.
  • The passenger ensures on this slip that he will convert USD 300 or its equivalent on entering Myanmar. This undertaking is to be carried in person and non compliance can result in refusal of entry.
  • Applicant needs confirmed return / onward air ticket. Land entry into Myanmar is not allowed.
  • Proof of sufficient funds.
  • A Covering Letter from the Indian Shipping Company.
  • A Letter of Invitation from the Business Associate/ s in Myanmar, a copy of which should be faxed directly to the Embassy.
  • Indian Seamen travelling on duty must hold a Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company with the Seamen Book and passport.
  • A letter from the Shipping Company in Myanmar should be sent directly to the Embassy. It should state particulars of the Seamen and the date and port of joining the ship.
  • Visa issued is valid for 90 days with a maximum stay 10 weeks. This is extendable in Myanmar.
  • Visa processing takes 3 working days.
