NOTE: Indian nationals must apply for and successfully complete pre-arrival registration online before they can visit or transit the HKSAR visa-free (if seeking to enter the HKSAR during transit). Pre-arrival registration is not required for Indian nationals in direct transit by air and not leaving the airport transit area. An Indian national can make use of the online service to apply for pre-arrival registration free of charge if he/she:

(a) holds an Indian passport valid for at least six months; and
(b) intends to visit or transit (except in direct transit by air and not leaving the airport transit area) the HKSAR for a stay not exceeding 14 days.

Pre-arrival registration is not applicable to Indian nationals who have the right of abode or the right to land in the HKSAR, are on unconditional stay in the HKSAR or have a valid permission to remain in the HKSAR for employment, study or residence.

Tourist

  • The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least one month after the period of their intended stay in Hong Kong and at least 2 blank pages.
  • Photocopy of passport.
  • One visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-size colour photographs with white back ground.
  • A Covering letter from the applicant stating his/her purpose, duration of stay, personal and passport details. The letter should be addressed to The Chinese Embassy, New Delhi with the subject Hong Kong Visa.
  • Confirmed onward / return air ticket.
  • Hotel confirmation or proof of stay.
  • Bank Statement for the last 3 months (minimum balance of INR 1.5 lakhs).
  • The Visa fee has to be paid in the form of a Bank Draft in favor of Chinese Embassy, New Delhi.

  • Photocopy of passport.
  • A Covering letter from the Applicant’s Company or Organization. The letter should be addressed to The Chinese Embassy, New Delhi with the subject Hong Kong Visa.
  • Sponsorship letter from the contacting Party in Hong Kong, namely, Business Counterpart or relatives and friends is also required.
  • An application form ID (E) 936, with relevant parts duly completed and signed.
  • A copy of the Sponsor’s Business Registration Certificate, Certificate of Incorporation and/ or Memorandum of Incorporation and Articles of Association.
  • Financial standing of the Sponsor/ Sponsor’s company (Income Tax Return, trading profit and loss account, Profit Tax Return).
  • Company staff list with salary offered and position held and list of expatriate staff previously or currently recruited from overseas.
  • A copy of the Applicant’s service contract or letter of appointment with details of post, salaries and benefits.
  • Full description of the Applicant’s post.
  • Details (with proof), of Applicant’s academic qualifications and experience relevant to the post, e.g. copies of Diplomas, Certificates and Testimonials.
  • A letter with supporting proof from the Employer (if possible) stating the reason why the post cannot be filled locally. If the Applicant is to replace someone already working in Hong Kong, the personal particulars and his whereabouts (if known) should be given. If the Applicant is to fill a new post, an explanation why his/her services is essential.
  • Evidence of the Applicant’s past residence in Hong Kong (if any).
