Tourist

• One visa application form (back to back printed or pasted, should be as a booklet) completely and legibly filled and signed by the traveler. All applicants should mention their personal mobile number or landline telephone number on the visa application form. If the application is made by a travel agent, then the telephone number of the agent should also be mentioned.
• Waiver declaration form required if the application is made with less than 15 working days in hand. It should be completely filled and signed by applicant.
• Two recent passport-size Photographs with very good resolution (white background and dark colored clothing and 3.3*3.5cm). No copy or scanned photographs. One photograph should be properly pasted on the form; the other should be given with the application. Stapled, pinned or photos with ink marks will not be accepted.
• Passport/Travel Document must:-
  • Have been issued within the previous 10 years, and its validity must not exceed 10 yrs.
  • At least have a validity of 3 months after intended stay.
  • Have at least 2 standard quality blank pages not torn, damaged, faded, stapled etc.

• International round-trip flight reservation or booking with a mention of full airport names and cities. Travel itineraries with travel dates mentioning if any other country/countries are to be covered during the entire trip. Please provide domestic tickets if departure from India is from a different city.
• Two clear photocopy set of first and last page of passport including all the observation pages. One clear photocopy set of valid visas if any.
• Covering letter from applicant explaining purpose of the visit and professional status of applicant. In case the applicant is self-employed or owns a business then the covering letter should be in the company letter head. For an applicant who is also applying for his/her family then a copy of the covering letter is needed for all the applications. It is mandatory to provide the following where applicable:
  • NOC from employers for salaried applicants.
  • Medical Registration Certificate for applicants who are doctors.
  • Holiday list for students or no objection certificate from the school, institute or college for the planned trip to Schengen area mentioning the dates of the trip.
  • Marriage certificate to be submitted in case there is no spouse endorsement in passport.
  • In case of honeymoon, marriage certificate and wedding card is required.
• Proof of adequate financial means of the applicant:
  • Salary slips/certificates of the last three months and/or Form F16.
  • Updated 3 months personal bank statement with bank branch details: telephone no., fax no. and email address. These details can be written by hand in case not printed in the bank statement. It is mandatory to provide these details. Bank statement has to be shown in original at the time of application. The statements should have bank stamp and signature. In cases where applicants are sponsored then personal bank statement of the sponsor with same above requirements needs to be submitted.
  • Original and one photocopy of Bank Guarantee (“fidejussione bancaria”) from sponsor in Italy (if any) covering the expenses for the duration of stay are covered by the Sponsor as per the foreign exchange value. The original will be returned with the passport. ID proof of the sponsor is required.
  • Income tax returns for last three years and/or Form 16.
  • Business registration certificate/Partnership Deed/Proof of proprietorship.
  • Foreign exchange endorsement on the passport and receipt.
  • Credit card copy with statement of credit limit.
• Proof of Accommodation:
  • Confirmed hotel bookings for the entire stay in the Schengen area. OR,
  • Invitation letter from the sponsor in Italy (“Lettera di invito”). Original “Lettera di invito” is mandatory if invitee is non- Italian. The Lettera di invito must be accompanied by photocopy of the pages of the invitee’s picture id containing relevant data, signature and validity of the document.
• Please note for minors:
  • Application form and other relevant documents and forms to be signed by both the parents.
  • If traveling with one of the parents a NO Objection Affidavit from other parent must be provided.
  • If traveling alone with none of the parents then a NO Objection Affidavit from both parents must go to the Consulate to sign a declaration in front of the visa officer.
• In case the applicant is less than 18 years of age then both parents need to sign all the forms including the application form.
• Please show original documents at the time of Submission of Application.
• Also note that only the Photocopies will be accepted of all the documents unless the original document is required.
• The Embassy reserves the right to ask for a Personal Interview or Additional Documents.
• Visas for UK and USA or any other country must be obtained if the applicant wishes to travel to any of these or other countries before or after entry to the Schengen Area.

Applicants applying at the Italy visa application centre shall be levied a service charge of Rs. 1015 (Inclusive of GST 18% & education cess) payable in cash. Applicants also need to pay an additional Cash handling charge of Rs 57.

Business

• Documentation proving the economic status of the Sponsor Company:
  • Registration Certificates of Company or Proof of Board Membership for liberal Professionals or Letter from Medical Institutions in case of doctors.
  • Updated 3 months bank statement with bank branch details: telephone no., fax no. and email address. These details can be written by hand in case not printed in the bank statement. It is mandatory to provide these details. Bank statement has to be shown in original at the time of application. The statements should have bank stamp and signature.
  • IEC number (if applicable).
• Covering letter from Indian Sponsor Company or Institution, explaining purpose of the visit, professional Status of applicant, and details regarding activities and business relation with Italian company. The letter must be signed by the authorized person with a clear mention of name and designation.
• Proof of adequate financial means of the applicant:
  • Salary slips/certificates of the last three months and/or Form F16.
  • Updated 3 months bank statement with bank branch details: telephone no., fax no. and email address. These details can be written by hand in case not printed in the bank statement. It is mandatory to provide these details. Bank statement has to be shown in original at the time of application. The statements should have bank stamp and signature.

  • Foreign exchange endorsement on the passport and receipt.

• Letter of invitation from the inviting Italian company. This letter should be in Italian as per the format available (Letter di Affari), signed by the authorized person. Copy of Photo ID proof (Passaporto and/or Carta d’identita) of the authorizing person containing relevant data like signature and validity of the document.
• Visura Camerale which is the proof of the inviting company registration in Italy.
• Please show original documents at the time of Submission of Application.
• Also note that only the Photocopies will be accepted of all the documents unless the original document is required.

• Original Letter from the Congregation in India and the original letter from Bishop of the Archdiocese from the place of residence, confirming the religious status, the completion of final vows and clearly explaining the purpose of the visit.
• Original Sponsorship letter from the hosting Congregation in Italy, attested by the Secretary of State – Vatican, with details concerning the religious nature of the event, or of the activities representing the purpose of the visit.
• Note Verbale from the Apostolic Nunciature in New Delhi confirming the duration and the religious purpose of the trip is mandatory to be provided in original.
• Proof of economic means of support for non-catholic priests, nuns, bishops, etc:
  • Declaration of assumption of responsibility by the religious organization: Updated 3 Month’s bank statement of the sponsor organization with bank branch details: telephone no., fax no. and email address. These details can be written by hand in case not printed in the bank statement. It is mandatory to provide these details. Bank statement has to be shown in original at the time of application. The statements should have bank stamp and signature. OR
  • In cases in which the expenses for the applicant’s stay are not borne by the religious bodies, the applicant should have at his/her disposal adequate means of sustenance in foreign exchange.
• In case the applicant is less than 18 years of age then both parents need to sign all the forms including the application form.

• “Dichiarazione di Valore” (Declaration of Value) of the applicant’s educational certificates duly legalized by the Consular office of this Embassy. The local Institution or School should advise this Embassy directly in case it is not required.
• Recent most Education Certificate (which could be Apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs) Last qualification certificate is mandatory. If the applicant is travelling to the Schengen area for the first time, then original Academic Certificates need to be legalized.
• Invitation letter should be in original mentioning the acceptance of enrolment by the Italian School or Institution with the duration of course.
• Receipt of full payment of Tuition fees (if required).
• Documentation regarding the applicant’s economic status:
• University Courses or Post graduate courses: Proof of means of support in Italy. One person must prove to have sufficient money to study and live in Italy. This availability can be proven through:
• Updated 3 months bank statement of the applicant or the family with bank branch details: telephone no., fax no. and email address. These details can be written by hand in case not printed in the bank statement. It is mandatory to provide these details. Bank statement has to be shown in original at the time of application. The statements should have bank stamp and signature.
• Bank loan if applicable.
• Scholarship from Italian Government or Non University courses: Proof of scholarship in original. Where the amount of the scholarship does not satisfy the minimum established by law (see annexed table ) the availability can be proven through:
• Updated 3 months bank statement of the applicant or the family with bank branch details: telephone no., fax no. and email address. These details can be written by hand in case not printed in the bank statement. It is mandatory to provide these details. Bank statement has to be shown in original at the time of application. The statements should have bank stamp and signature.
• Bank loan if applicable.
• Adequate proof of Boarding and Lodging.
• A return flight ticket or booking mandatory for students whose study period is less than 1 year.
• If applicable, the applicant needs to submit his/her original (not scanned) admission letter stapled with the passport. At the time of collection of the passport applicant has to make sure that the admission letter or the declaration letter by the university is duly stamped by the Embassy.
• In case the applicant is less than 18 years of age then both parents need to sign all the forms including the application form.

Seamen

• Letter from the Shipping Company in India.
• Copy of singed contract between the seaman and the shipping company/employer.
• Copy of medical fitness certificate.
• Copy of the STWC certificate.
• Fax from the shipping agents in Italy / Sweden stating:-
  • Flagship of vessel.
  • Exact time of arrival and exact time of departure of the vessel.
  • The fax should be attested by the Harbour Master port Captain where the seaman is expected to join the vessel.
  • Fax needs to be completed with the company’s certificate of registration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
• Original CDC book along with the photocopy.
• In case the applicant is less than 18 years of age then both parents need to sign all the forms including the application form. It is necessary to submit the birth certificate of applicants who are minor.
• Please show original documents at the time of Submission of Application.

• Photocopy of “Autorizzazione al lavoro subordinato” (Authorization for dependent work) issued by competent “Ufficio Provinciale del Lavoro” (Labour Provincial Directorate) whose date is not prior to six months, duly authorized by competent “Questura” (Police Headquarters). OR,
• Original and photocopy of “Autorizzazione al lavoro” issued by competent “Ufficio Provinciale del Lavoro – Segreteria Collocamento Spettacolo, Via Fornovo 8, 00193 ROMA (Labour Provincial Directorate – Division for the Show Business) or by the “Ufficio Speciale Collocamento dello Spettacolo” at Palermo (Special Labour Office) In this case, however, an “undertaking letter” by the employer is mandatory, Assuring that the applicants will return to India after the completion of their Work contract.
• Photo ID proof of the invitee person.

• Covering letter by the traveler addressing to the Consulate describing purpose of travel.

• The Embassy/Consulate reserves the right to request for further documentation and to verify the documentation submitted. In this case the maximum period of 90 days fixed by the Italian law for the evaluation of this visa type will be suspended till verification is completed.

• Covering letter from applicant explaining purpose of the visit and professional status of applicant.
• For a “familiare al seguito” visa the application for the work/study visa and the accompanying family visa must be made simultaneously.
• A “Delega” must be signed before this Consulate General to nominate a person in Italy to apply for and obtain the “Nulla Osta per familiare al seguito” on behalf of the principal applicant. The person to be nominated for the “delega” should be someone in Italy e.g. the sponsor who can apply on behalf of the principal applicant to the competent “Questura” for the “Nulla Osta al familiare al seguito”.
• A declaration (dichiarazione per familiare al seguito) must be made in front of the Consulate General, with a copy of the identity document, requesting the presence of the spouse and minor child/children in Italy and which attests that they shall be economically dependent on the principal applicant. The requisite documentation will be provided by this Consular office accompanying spouse/minor children in original, issued by the competent Questura in Italy.   • Discrepancy, if any, in the names of the applicant/s on the “Nulla Osta” and the passport/s, should be corrected to correspond with the name on the passport.
  • Photocopy of the passport of the principal applicant who will work/study in Italy.
  • Airline reservation printout to be completed later with a confirmed airline ticket prior to retrieval of the visa.
• For Accompanying Spouse in Italy – Original Marriage Certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriage, Sub-Registrar or Gram Panchayat, clearly mentioning the registration number.
• For Accompanying Parent in Italy – Birth Certificate of the child/children in original, issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, clearly mentioning the registration number.
• Legalization of all Certificates/Affidavits in Original.
• Original certificates and affidavits to be duly validated by the Under Secretary of the Home Department of the relevant/competent State Government. This Certificate should be translated into the Italian language by a recognized translator. The certificate and the translation should be legalized by the Consular section of this Consulate General.
• In case the applicant is less than 18 years of age then both parents need to sign all the forms including the application form.
• Please show original documents at the time of Submission of Application.
• Also note that only the Photocopies will be accepted of all the documents unless the original document is required.
• The Embassy reserves the right to ask for a Personal Interview or Additional Documents.
• Visas for UK and USA or any other country must be obtained if the applicant wishes to travel to any of these or other countries before or after entry to the Schengen Area.
• Please note to apply within 90 days from date of travel.

Applicants applying at the Italy visa application centre shall be levied a service charge of Rs. 1015 (Inclusive of GST 18% & education cess) payable in cash. Applicants also need to pay an additional Cash handling charge of Rs 57.

The fee is non-refundable.

There is a courier service available at INR 323/- per application, SMS facility available at INR 81/- per applicant & Form filling Charges: INR 164/- (Inclusive of GST 18%). All the above Optional Services have to be paid in cash only.

Fees for Conformity of Translation is:-

Conformity of translation from English to Italian, per page – INR 940/-.

Conformity of translation from Italian to English, per 2 page – INR 1180/-.

Passport Photocopy Attestation per page – INR 730/-.

Re-Entry

• One visa application form (back to back printed or pasted, should be as a booklet) completely and legibly filled and signed by the traveler. All applicants should mention their personal mobile number or landline telephone number on the visa application form. If the application is made by a travel agent, then the telephone number of the agent should also be mentioned.
• Waiver declaration form required if the application is made with less than 15 working days in hand. It should be completely filled and signed by applicant.
• Two recent passport-size Photographs with very good resolution (white background and dark colored clothing and 3.3*3.5cm). No copy or scanned photographs. One photograph should be properly pasted on the form; the other should be given with the application. Stapled, pinned or photos with ink marks will not be accepted.
• Passport/Travel Document must:
  • Have been issued within the previous 10 years, and its validity must not exceed 10 yrs.
  • At least have a validity of 3 months after intended stay.
  • Have at least 2 standard quality blank pages not torn, damaged, faded, stapled etc.
• Covering letter from applicant detailing reasons for the re-entry visa application.
  • If the “Permesso di soggiorno” (Permit of stay) expiry date does not exceeds 60 days, documentation for not having applied for the renewal in Italy is to be submitted.
  • If application for renewal was submitted but, for personal reasons, applicant had to leave Italy before its issuance, original of the receipt (given to him By the Questura – Police Headquarters)) is to be submitted.
  • If the valid “Permesso di soggiorno” has been stolen or lost while in India, Original Police.
• Report, attesting lost/theft of “Permesso di soggiorno” (Permit of stay), is to be submitted in original, translated in English & duly attested.
• Two clear photocopy set of first and last page of passport including all the observation pages. One clear photocopy set of valid visas if any.
• International one way flight reservation or booking with a mention of full airport names and cities.
• Re-entry visa can be issued ONLY after authorization from the competent “Questura” (Police Headquarters) in Italy.
