Tourist

Starting from 01st June, 2014, all reception of documents to apply for a visa will be done by previous appointment, which should be requested online through the system MEXITEL ( http://citas.sre.gob.mx/mexitel_web/login/auth ).

It is recommended to request an appointment with plenty of time in advance to avoid any inconveniences.

By clicking the above link, you can set up an account and choose a suitable time for your appointment at the Consular Section. Once you access the webpage using your user name, please select the option “VISA with NUT” if you have a work permit from INM, otherwise select the “VISAS” option. After booking your appointment, the system will generate a confirmation letter, which you must carry with you to the Embassy on the day of your appointment, along with the other required documents.

• 1. Holders of valid visa of the United States of America (any nationality) shall not require visa to enter Mexico with tourist, transit and business purposes only.
• 2. Legal Permanent Residents of USA, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom and Schengen States do not require visa for enter Mexico with tourist, transit and business purposes.
• 3. Any other activity may be subject to the issuance of a Mexican visa.
• 4. Holders of Diplomatic or Official indian passports do not require a visa to enter Mexico for 90 days.
• 5. Official/Clergy of Religious organization require prior authorization granted by the Immigration Authority of Mexico (Instituto Nacional de Migraci├│n, INM).
• 6. The Consular Section issues multiple entry long term visas.
• 7. Personal presence of the applicant is mandatory for biometric process and interview.
• 8. The Embassy of Mexico does NOT accept denomination of rupees 500 and 1000 for consular fee.

• A passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application. It is mandatory to have two blank pages facing each other for the visa stamping.
• One visa form (photocopy allowed) duly filled and signed by the traveler. The form should be printed back to back.
• A migration form with the thumb impression of the traveler given at the Embassy.
• One passport-size photograph (4.5 cm X 3.5 cm) with white background without glasses.
• Covering letter given by your organization and duly signed by the competent authority.
• Confirmed return air ticket.
• Hotel confirmation.
• Visa of countries to be visited or transited before and after the stay in Mexico.
• Proof of holding a permanent position in a Government, Educational or any other established Company or Organization.
• Proof of financial solvency like Income Tax Returns (last 3 years), Credit Card, Bank statements (last 6 months), property papers or foreign exchange endorsement on passport. If economically dependant, adequate supporting documents to this effect are required.
• Visa is valid for 90 days with a maximum stay of 60 days allowed.
• No visa will be granted on passports without a prior visa of other countries.
• Visas are normally issued in one working day when formalities are duly completed.
• Visa fee is to be paid in INR.

Business

• A Letter of Invitation from Associate/ s in Mexico in Spanish language addressed to the Embassy guaranteeing repatriation.
• The letter should show written proof of having established previous contact with Mexican companies for business proposals.
• A Copy of the Company’s legal registration with the appropriate authorities in the Country and, if possible, membership of any Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
• A Copy of the Company’s financial bank statements or any other statement of financial solvency.
• Apart from the visa sticker, an additional Business Card is also issued by the Embassy which should be carried by the traveler.

Passengers transiting in the airport for less than 12 hours and not leaving the airport do not require a Visa. Otherwise a visa is required.

Seamen

• Present Continuous Discharge Certificate/ updated Seamen’s Book is needed.
• A copy of the Contract signed by the traveler with both the Shipping companies involved in the enrolment of the Seaman or crew member.
• A copy of the Company’s legal registration with appropriate Authorities in the country. A confirmed Letter of Support from the Mexican Shipping Company taking full responsibility of the enrolment of the Applicant in the ship and at the Port of Embarkation. This needs to be faxed directly to the Embassy.
• Written proof of having established previous contacts with Mexican Shipping Companies for the specific purpose in the Contract with the Shipping Company.
• A copy of the Company’s legal registration with appropriate Authorities of the country and, if possible, membership in any Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
• A copy of the Company’s financial bank statements or any other statement of financial solvency.
• Visa validity and stay permitted are the same as for a transit visa.
• Visas are normally issued in one working day when formalities are duly completed.

Work Visa (Business Visitor Requiring Entry Permit)

The Embassy of Mexico in India is not authorized to issue a work visa without a previous authorization by the National Migration Institute (INM). The employer must apply for the working permit in any office of the INM (www.inm.gob.mx) in Mexico.

Spouse / Dependant Visa: The Consular Section can not issue migratory documents for spouses/dependants without the previous authorization from the Mexican migration authority. The visa has to be applied by the employer in Mexico.

Student visa

Citizens of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives who wish to enroll for more than six months in a Mexican school, college or university, either public or private, to commence, continue or finish studies, whether or not for credit; conduct research to obtain a graduate diploma; study Spanish, or pursue any other studies regardless of whether they intend to receive official recognition, must obtain a student visa.

In order to obtain a student visa the applicant has to contact the Institution where he/she is planning to study and inform them to approach to “Instituto Nacional de Migraci├│n” and apply for “PERMISO DE INTERNACION”.

The following documents must be presented by the traveler at this Consular Section once the student gets the approval from Mexico:
